Pacific Rim Fall Protection
"Gravity is the Law, Arresting you is our Business"
Full body harnesses are an absolute requirement for
certain dangerous industrial situations. That said, many
employees put themselves in perilous positions without
    wearing a harness.

Unfortunately, even if they decide not to wear a harness,
it's still your responsibility as the owner if something goes
    wrong.
         Choosing the Right Body Harness
One of the biggest problems with body
harnesses is that many workers find them
     uncomfortable. Even the best harnesses
are quite elaborate, so if they are not fit
correctly, it's easy for them to feel like more
of a burden than an aid.  They can also be
restrictive, causing workers to feel like they
don't have their normal range of motion and
     abilities.

For theses reasons, it's absolutely crucial
that you outfit your workers with harnesses
that feel as comfortable as possible. Safety
     studies consistently show that many
employees simply won't wear a harness if it
doesn't feel right -- regardless of how
dangerous it is to go without one.

The best fall protection harnesses are built with both comfort and safety in mind. As an employer, it's
important that you choose equipment that will protect your crew in addition to keeping them comfortable.
Fall protection harnesses should be designed to eliminate several types of safety hazards.

First of all, they need to be strong enough to handle falls of more than six feet. In the event that a fall
does occur, they should protect against slamming after a fall, as well as poor posture while the fall is in
      progress.

Fall protection harnesses come in several different sizes to comfortably accommodate different body
      types.
Small harnesses are made for people weighing 120 to 160 pounds, medium harnesses
      accommodate 160 to 220 pounds.
Large harnesses are made for people weighing 220 to 300 pounds,
      while
extra large harnesses are for workers that weigh 300 to 350 pounds.

Be sure to buy the right harness for each employee, since an under or overrated harness will not provide
the right level of comfort and protection.
